Strive for Excellence (Strive) is a comprehensive coaching program for aspiring competitive junior golfers.

Strive is designed for junior golfers, at all levels, who want to increase their enjoyment and success in the game, in a fun and supportive environment, under the guidance of Class “A” PGA Professional Instructor, Jamie Reimer. Jamie has over 13 years of extensive experience coaching junior golfers, and his program has proven successful for many prominent players who have gone on to win various titles including:

Junior Alberta champion (eight-shot margin) 

Alberta Amateur runner-up 

MJT Academy Order of Merit Winners (3X)

Alberta Juvenile and Bantam Champion

USGA Jr. Amateur Participant

Alberta Junior Masters’ Champion

Alberta Provincial Juvenile Girls’ champion

Alberta Provincial Girls’ champion

Strive programs

Reimer Golf offers three Strive programs depending on a player’s age and golf experience: Strive Elite, Strive B, Strive C, and Intro to Competition. All Strive programs incorporate various aspects of the game, swing mechanics, mental and emotional strategies, course management, and tournament support and scheduling. Strive programs also include weekly, private lessons with Jamie, a CJGA membership, Golfuture YYC, TrackMan 4 and , tournament scheduling and planning among other benefits! 

 

Strive Elite

The Strive Elite program is for experienced and talented players, ages 12-18, who are fully dedicated to the game of golf, have previous tournament experience, and are working towards a university scholarship or want to compete at the highest junior level.

Strive Elite players participate in a eleven-month program that includes a 55-minute private lesson every week, nine tournament observation rounds, four tournament practice rounds, and the opportunity to compete in various tournaments across Alberta, Canada, and the U.S.

Players must meet at least three eligibility requirements to be accepted into the Strive Elite program:

  • Ages: 12-18
  • Handicap: 15 and under
  • Tournaments played in the last year: 10 or more
  • Tournament wins required: Yes
  • Rounds logged in 2020: 50 or more
  • Previous coaching required: Yes
  • Junior membership required: Yes

Start date: November 2, 2022*
Program duration: 11 months

Strive B

The Strive B program is for passionate golfers, ages 15-18, who have some previous tournament experience or still have another sport they are competing in. Strive B is designed for players who want to play golf competitively but aren’t ready for high-level competition just yet.

Strive B players participate in an eleven-month program that includes a 55-minute private lesson every week, up to 10 tournament observation rounds, and up to four tournament practice rounds.

Players must meet at least three eligibility requirements to be accepted into the Strive B program:

  • Ages: 12-18
  • Handicap: 15 and under
  • Tournaments played in the last year: 10 or more
  • Tournament wins required: Yes
  • Rounds logged in 2020: 50 or more
  • Previous coaching required: Yes
  • Junior membership required: Yes

Start date: November 2, 2022*
Program duration: 11 months

Strive C

The Strive C program is for committed, future competitive players, ages 12-15, who have no previous tournament experience or still have other sports on the go, but are working towards Strive Elite.

 

Strive C players participate in an eleven-month program that includes a 55-minute private lesson most weeks, optional semi-private lessons, up to five tournament observation rounds, and up to two tournament practice rounds. 

 

Players must meet at least three eligibility requirements to be accepted into the Strive C program:

  • Ages: 12-15
  • Handicap: 36 and under
  • Tournaments played in the last year: None required
  • Tournament wins required: No
  • Rounds logged in 2020: 25 or more
  • Previous coaching required: No
  • Junior membership required: No
